Working principle of quick temperature measurement thermocouple
The principle of temperature measurement is based on the thermal effect of metals; A thermocouple is a loop composed of two different metal conductors. The temperature measurement thermocouple has two contacts; one end contacts with the molten metal and is called the hot end (working end), the other end is connected to the secondary instrument and called the cold end (reference end) when there is a temperature difference between the hot end and the cold end, the corresponding thermoelectric EMF will be generated in the thermocouple loop, and can be used to determine the temperature of the molten metal.

The quick temperature measurement thermocouple is used to measure the temperature of molten steel and other molten metals. It is a disposable device used for accurate temperature measurement and an essential device to improve the quality of steel.
Structure of quick temperature measurement thermocouple
It is mainly composed of a temperature measurement thermocouple probe and a large paper tube, the thermocouple probe is mainly composed of negative and positive thermocouple wires welded on the compensation wire, the compensation wire is embedded on the bracket, the bracket is covered with a small paper tube, the thermocouple wires are supported and protected with quartz tubes, the quartz tubes are equipped with slag caps, and all components are assembled in a mold and sealed with the refractory filler; therefore, it is a disposable device.

Usage
Choose the protective tube with an appropriate length and the temperature measurement gun based on the measurement object and range.
Install the quick thermocouple on the temperature measurement gun, reset the secondary instrument pointer or digital display instrument to zero, which indicates good contact, and then carry out the temperature measurement.
Determine the insertion depth of quick thermocouple into molten steel based on the size of the furnace, generally choose 300-500mm. Do not allow it in contact with the furnace wall or steel slag, to achieve quick, accurate and stable measurement; when the measurement result is displayed on the secondary instrument or a “Bell” sound is issued, immediately pick up the measurement gun; otherwise it may be damaged.
After picking up the temperature measurement gun from the furnace, remove the used thermocouple and install a new one, and wait a few minutes for the next measurement. Do not remove it during the measurement process; otherwise the measurement temperature will fluctuate.
Transportation & Storage
The products shall be handled with care during loading and unloading processes, and shall not be exposed to moisture during transportation. The products shall be stored in a warehouse at a relative humidity of no more than 80%, with air circulation and free of harmful gases that may cause any corrosion.
